A TYPICAL SCHOOL DAY:
 
8:00 – 8:40              Before school classes are available for interested parents / students
 
8:45 – 10:50            Humanities – these are multi-aged classes that combine language arts, social studies, art history and technology.  We
think of this as our students’ “home base.”             
 
10:55 – 11:55          Math class – students are assessed before entering the Arts Academy so that they can be placed at the correct level.  Students will be moved ahead if they have established their competency, or will be placed at grade level.
 
11:55 – 12:30           Lunch / recess
 
12:35 -   1:35            Specialized arts class for 7th / 8th graders; arts rotation for 5th / 6th
 
1:40 – 2:40              Science class – 5th, 6th and 7th grades attend science 2 – 3 days per week.  PE is offered on the opposite days.  8th graders attend science 4 days per week and PE one day.
 
2:45 – 3:45              Elective class
 
On Fridays, we have a shorter day that ends at 12:45.  Students attend all of their
classes.  Friday afternoons are critical team planning days for our faculty and staff.
